How to cook bacon in the oven with a 30 second video!
Bacon is a staple in my home. And this is especially true if you live in the South. However, the mess that goes along with cooking up your favorite pork product, is less than desirable.
When you fry bacon in a pan, you get a lot of splatter… and EVERYWHERE! Not to mention you can get burned rather severely from that grease splatter. 2nd degree burns while cooking? No thank you!
Here is this month’s kitchen hack:
Cook your bacon in the oven.
Did you know that you can use the oven? Not only can you, but you should!
It is a lot less of a headache, if you ask me. Cooking bacon in the oven is far less mess in my opinion. I am not a fan of the grease splatter that is involved with frying bacon in a pan. Once I found this bacon hack, I never looked back.
I hope you find this kitchen hack helpful. Let me know how you liked it!

How to Cook Bacon in the Oven
Notes
The temperature is a personal choice. Do you like to cook quickly or cook slowly? It’s up to you!
If you have leftovers, simply place them in a sealed container. I use the leftover bacon for salads, sandwiches, burgers, and more, through the week. It is a game changer and a great kitchen hack!
I would suggest only keeping it for a week in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
- Bacon
- Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350° – 400°.
- Line a cookie sheet or baking pan with non-stick foil.
- Separate your slices of bacon and place on the foil. Try to avoid overlapping bacon slices for a more even cook.
- Next, pepper to taste, if you desire. Not a fan of peppered bacon? Skip this step.
- Bake your bacon for approximately 30 minutes. This time will vary on your oven and the temperature you selected.
- The first time you cook your bacon in the oven, keep a close eye on it. Perfectly cooked bacon is a personal preference. Figure out your sweet spot and follow that routine moving forward. I have found that different ovens do not cook at the same pace. So, this is not a one size fits all step.
- Once it has finished cooking, take a plate and line it with a paper towel to absorb the grease. If you cook more than one package at a time, you can layer the bacon and paper towels as each layer fills up.
- Next, enjoy!
