Peet’s Coffee

Peet’s Coffee

Founded in 1966 by Alfred Peet in Berkeley, CA, Peet’s Coffee came to life. Following in the footsteps of his father, you could say that Alfred was born into the coffee business. A world traveler, Alfred made his way to America in 1950 and landed in California, only to discover that Californians had no idea what a good cup of coffee was. Working as a coffee importer at the time, it wasn’t until 1966 when Alfred decided to take the reigns when it came to roasting the perfect cup of joe. Deemed “too bold” by locals, he ignored those comments and carved his own path in the coffee industry.

I can confirm that Peet’s is definitely a “bold” cup of coffee. It is not meant for the weak coffee lover. However, if you like a bold cup of joe with umph… Peet’s Coffee might be exactly what you are looking for!

Peet’s Coffee has grown to become a beloved coffee chain with locations across the country. They are known for their commitment to sourcing the highest quality beans and roasting them to perfection. In addition to their signature dark roast, they offer a variety of other blends and single origin coffees for customers to enjoy.

One of the unique things about Peet’s is that they still roast their coffee in small batches, just like Alfred did when he first started the business. This ensures that each batch is carefully monitored and roasted to bring out the best flavors in the beans. It’s this attention to detail and dedication to quality that has made Peet’s Coffee a favorite among coffee enthusiasts.

Peet’s French Roast

This month’s kitchen hack:

Half and Half. For those of you that can’t handle a cup of coffee that is too bold, Half and Half will work wonders! Add a sprinkle of your favorite sweetener and you have a very delightful hot beverage.

For this entry, I opted for Peet’s French Roast which is a dark roast and has hints of chocolate truffle and caramel. Both favs of mine! When I added the cream and sweetener of my choice, it was a fantastic cup of coffee. However, my husband is a diehard black coffee drinker. The bolder, the better! He loved Pete’s French Roast straight out of the coffee pot.

So, if you’re in the mood for a bold and flavorful cup of coffee, give Peet’s Coffee a try.
