Sugar substitutes – Do they exist?

There are various reasons one may want to cut their sugar intake. Diabetes is far from the only reason a change may be needed or even desired.

For myself, I have come to realize that sugar does not agree with my gut microbiome. After extensive testing… and Lord knows I have tested and re-tested! I have come to accept that I need to make a change in the amount of sugar I consume daily.

So, my search for better alternatives has begun!

I will dive deep into alternatives and share the ones I like and the ones that didn’t make the cut. I am not going to lie, sweets are my thing! When I mentioned to my husband that I was going to make a change, he was less than thrilled. Thus, he confirmed if the change would be mandated on the entire household.

While I am not one to dictate what someone else should or shouldn’t eat, as the primary cook in our home, there will be some crossover. So, enjoyable sugar substitutes are high on my list.

This month’s kitchen hack:

Sugar Substitutes – Yes, they actually exist! I will share them with you plus, any pros and cons.

From raw sugar, honey, coconut, monk fruit, stevia, and more, I will breakdown the good, the bad, and the ugly. However, just know that there is hope!

Don’t forget to email your favorite kitchen hacks to me! I share my favorites.
